Johnathan's passion for art began at the age of five when he won his first state art competition. By age twelve, he had become a published artist after illustrating and creating his own story. Throughout his youth, Johnathan continued to develop his artistic talents, becoming highly skilled in both drawing and painting.

In 2006, Johnathan began his tattoo apprenticeship at Cherry Bomb Tattoo under the guidance of Eddie Yeary. He remained there for several years, refining his craft and building a strong reputation as a tattoo artist. During his time working with Eddie, he also learned airbrushing and quickly became highly proficient in that medium as well.

In 2011, Johnathan, Eddie, and another colleague were featured in an Anne Stokes publication for their tattoos based on her artwork. The book was distributed internationally and has been enjoyed by audiences around the world for years.

Eventually, Johnathan ventured out on his own and founded Tatman Tattoos. The name "Tatman" originated from his longtime nickname, earned because he was known for wearing different Batman T-shirts almost every day while tattooing. Under his leadership, Tatman Tattoos grew into a successful business that he operated until 2026, when he sold the company.

Today, Johnathan continues tattooing at the same location, now known as Skinwalker Studio. With decades of artistic experience and a lifelong dedication to his craft, Johnathan remains committed to creating exceptional artwork for every client who sits in his chair.
